Project Description:

1-2 OSU students to assist with Youth Enviro Squad service learning, 20*20 Juntos: Together after-school and evening programs, and Youth Farm activities. Between January 12 and March 5, there are over 80 hours of programming planned on Wednesday afternoons and evenings 2:30-7:30pm, most Saturdays 7:30-4:30, and 2 Monday federal holidays. 20*20 Juntos: Together is 12 middle school mentees along with 6-10 high school students taking some college classes, and middle school student families on Wednesday evenings. Youth Enviro Squad is 2 Saturdays per month with 8-30 youth traveling to specific service learning sites, focused on habitat management and restoration. Youth Farm is most Fridays after school and two Saturdays per month 8:30a-1:30p. Duties include assisting in the delivery of the after-school and Juntos curriculum, snack and meal prep, modeling and mentoring service learning tasks, mastering work skills, and otherwise engaging youth in leadership skill development. Also set up and take down of meeting materials and service tools. Various office tasks include copying/dissemination of materials, event recruitment, attendance and other records keeping. Fluency in Spanish is welcome. Possible some 12-passenger van driving if eligible.

Timeline: OSU students are most needed from March through mid-June, but there will be work to do starting January 9.
