International Research and Development Programs
College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) has a long tradition and a strong presence in the International Agriculture. Office of International Research and Development (OIRD) now coordinates most of our international activities.
As of April 1, 2013, the Aquaculture & Fisheries Collaborative Research Support Program (AquaFish CRSP) will operate under a new name, "The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Aquaculture & Fisheries" (AquaFish Innovation Lab) as required by USAID. AquaFish Phase I work (conducted under AquaFish CRSP) ran from award inception in 2006 through March 31, 2013. AquaFish Phase II work (being conducted under the AquaFish Innovation Lab) will run from April 1, 2013, through March 29, 2018.
USAID has long recognized the U.S. higher education community (U.S. HEC) as a national asset and a valued partner in international development. The community fosters creative new approaches to development problems which USAID is working on through out the developing world in support of U.S. national interests. Most USAID business with the U.S. HEC is conducted through competitive processes which ensure consistency with USAID development strategies, objectives and quality while eliciting the best ideas.
