The College of Agricultural Sciences deans and Oregon Agricultural Experiment Station directors wish to invite all tenure-track faculty and other priority staffing hires of the past four-five years to two important events on Thursday, November 12, 2009. In these changing and uncertain times, we feel it is important to provide information, advice and support to our faculty and unit leaders. These events will take place at the CH2M Hill Alumni Center on the Corvallis campus and include:

  • An Orientation Workshop on the mission, functions and responsibilities of a Land Grant University, including the Agricultural Experiment Station (OAES), Extension Ag & Natural Resources (EXT), Academic Programs (AP), and Extension & Experiment Station Communications (EESC), from 2-5 pm. Faculty should  bring research ideas, outlines, and budgets or outcome stories for sharing and receiving advice on how to improve. Sign up through the OSU Registration Website http://oregonstate.edu/training/ under course title "Research New Faculty Orientation."

And

  • A Cohort Social and Dinner with the CAS deans, directors and unit leaders, from 5:30-8:00 pm. Dean Ramaswamy will share the latest on challenges we face, his vision for our college, and opportunities as we go forward.

Faculty interested in attending the orientation or dinner should contact Nichole Sullivan at nichole.sullivan@oregonstate.edu before November 6, 2009 for more information or to RSVP.
