The research performed for this program is geared towards advancing the development of the meadowfoam oil industry in the US and increasing the economic viability of meadowfoam oil as substitute for petrochemicals in the manufacture of lubricants, plastics, surfactants, and other industrial products by genetically enhancing meadowfoam, an industrial oilseed crop.
