Practical experience applying sustainability concepts is of utmost importance in sustainability education. All Sustainability Double Degree students are thus required to complete 3 credits of a Sustainability Practicum. A Practicum could take the form of an internship (SUS 410), a faculty-sponsored research project (SUS 401) or be a part of educational experiences such as Faculty-Led Trips Abroad or Alternative Break Trips.
1 – 2 terms prior to engaging in Practicum, schedule a meeting to discuss your Practicum with the Sustainability Advisor.
Halfway through the Practicum term complete Mid-Term Practicum Reflection and submit to Sus.Advising@oregonstate.edu
At the end of the Practicum term, write a Practicum Final Report and submit it to the Sustainability Advisor in Finals Week. Here are the guidelines for the final Practicum report.
Sustainability students have participated in Practicums at non-profits, businesses and government agencies, not only in Corvallis, but also around the country and world. Below are links to potential Practicum opportunities and internships, but feel free to explore other options. We encourage Practicum students to find an opportunity that engages and inspires, wherever it might be!
