Artist Statement:

"Claudia Cave paints highly detailed, often-witty images, packed with symbols and metaphors. Mystery, irony and odd juxtapositions all play a roll in defining the narrative, which can play more like a dream than waking reality.

“Cave’s work has been included in numerous exhibitions and in many public and private collections. Her work has been shown at the Alternative Museum in New York City; the Seattle Art Museum in Seattle, Washington; the Cheney Cowles Museum in Spokane, Washington; the Hockaday Center for the Arts in Kalispell, Montana, the Portland Art Museum in Portland, Oregon and Kaye College in Beer-Sheva, Israel. In addition, Claudia’s paintings have been purchased through the Percent for Art Program in both Oregon and Washington and collected by corporations such as Microsoft, Mentor Graphics and Intel Corporation. She also has work in the Seattle Portable Works Collection and the Visual Chronicle of Portland Collection.

“Claudia received a degree in art education from Western Oregon University in Monmouth, and an M.F.A. from The University of Idaho. She was born in Salem, Oregon and currently resides in Corvallis, Oregon.”
