Artist Statement:
"I've always wanted to be an artist. I remember my mother taking me to art museums when I was young and being deeply moved by art. I wanted to be able to make something so beautiful it would move me and if I was lucky, others might be moved as well. Even though I wanted to make art I had (for as long as I can remember) almost a mantra of 'I can't draw'. It stopped me from trying. Luckily an artist friend asked me when I was in my early forties if I could type. When I responded that, 'yes, I can type' she said 'then you can draw, its just a skill that you learn'. That message made it possible for me to start learning the skills I needed to start making art."
