The College of Agricultural Sciences, Oregon State University, is organizing the art exhibition Cultivating Creativity: Art from the OSU Art About Agriculture Permanent Collection by Mid-Willamette Valley Artists & Invited Artists in collaboration with the Willamette Heritage Center’s Mission Mill Museum. Works of art were selected from the College’s Art About Agriculture permanent collection to feature certain artists represented in the collection, and three invited artists, who live, or have lived, in the three counties served by the Heritage Center: Marion, Polk, and Yamhill.

The Dye House on the Mission Mill Museum site houses the art gallery for the Cultivating Creativity exhibition. Selected drawings, paintings, photographs, prints, and sculptures impart artistic enlightenment for many familiar scenes relevant to Willamette Valley agriculture. Artists’ portrayals of local barnyards, farms, gardens, orchards, and vineyards illuminate various enterprises taking place round the seasons in this area of Oregon. Many works of art invoke the heart of this region’s abundant natural resources: rolling hills, stands of pine, and water pooled in saturated fields, are a few examples.

Ginny Adelsheim, Newberg; Dale Bunse, Independence; and Jodie Garrison, Salem, are invited artists. Artists represented in the Art About Agriculture permanent collection include: Marge Anderson, Lebanon; Philip V. Augustin, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Mary Berry, Redmond; Claudia Cave, Corvallis; Marti Cheek, Jefferson; Gloria Cornelius, Salem; Chris Cummings, Amity; Mark Elliot, Dallas; Chrissy Froese, Athena; Paul Gentry, Independence; Alan Graham, Salem; Wendy Huhn, Dexter; Christopher Irving, Silverton; Marg Johansen (1923-2004), McMinnville; Peter Krupp, Albany; Jean Lea, Salem; Bill Marshall, Albany; Nancy McMorris, Albany; Kurt Norlin, Albany; Connie Petty (1926-2007), Albany; Bob Pool, Salem; J.
