Featured art: Pearlyn Tan, Self Portrait, 2022, cyanotype and acrylic on paper, 24” x 18”.

The Art About Agriculture program in OSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences presents the art of Pearlyn Tan, a multidisciplinary Portland-based artist originally from Singapore. Tending showcases the artist’s exploration of botanicals and vital earth elements in juxtaposition to motherhood. Combining various mediums and substrates, Tan writes, “I strive to create work that evokes joy, beauty in nature and captures transient moments in time - I hope my work sparks these sentiments for you.”

Tan’s work is a part of public and private collections including the City of Portland Portable Works, Beaverton Public Collection and OSU College of Agricultural Sciences. She teaches printmaking workshops and is a member of Print Arts Northwest and Oregon Botanical Artists.

Pearlyn Tan received the 2024 Roy D. Nielsen Art About Agriculture Purchase Award for her collagraph print, Pacific Halibut, 2024.
