Strand Gallery presents the intricate and thought-provoking art quilts of Eugene-based artist, Sheryl LeBlanc. LeBlanc’s exploration of patterns and textures fosters unique perspectives on environmental and wildlife causes. Using hand dyeing, disperse dyeing, collaging, repurposing, resisting, stamping, printing, and transfers, the artist’s experimental spirit stems from her printmaking experience.
LeBlanc is an active member of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA). She was a curator, manager, and regional representative of the SAQA traveling exhibitions Habitat (2020-22) and Shifting Tides (2019-22). LeBlanc also organized SAQA’s current touring Oregon trunk show, Common Threads: The Stiches that Unite Us.
Sheryl LeBlanc received the 2021 Sheldon L. Ladd Art About Agriculture Purchase Award for the art quilt, Flying Embers, 2017.
