This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. This appointment includes indefinite tenure on a 9-month basis at 1.00 FTE at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.

The primary responsibility of the position is leadership of CBARC’s research and outreach programs supporting dryland agricultural cropping systems in Oregon.

The Director provides overall leadership for team-based research and extension programs and management of personnel, facilities, and budgets. The Director develops and maintains an extramurally-funded research program that provides information needed to advance dryland agriculture. Research results are reported through peer- reviewed publications, extension publications and presentations to producers, the public, and scientific audiences. The Director will interact with growers, agency and industry personnel, and scientists to address agricultural needs; and will participate in committees, and other professional activities at CBARC, campus-based departments, College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS), OSU, professional societies, and the community. The Director will work with the Research Leader of the USDA-Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Soil-Water Research Unit in Pendleton, Oregon, to coordinate research, stakeholder engagement, and outreach programs.
