Coriander Seed

The seed of this plant is called coriander while the vegetation is known as cilantro. Coriander is an annual crop in central Oregon that is planted in May and harvested ;in September. Most of the seed is exported to South America and other more temperate locations. ;Both coriander seed and cilantro are used in salsa, guacamole and other Mexican dishes. Coriander seed is so attractive to honey bees that there is concern about nearby coriander fields pulling bees away from other vegetable seed crops in the area.
