2016 Cereal Variety Trial Update

The 2016 (and previous years) Oregon irrigated and dryland wheat variety trials yield, protein, and agronomic data are available at http://cropandsoil.oregonstate.edu/wheat/wheat-research. The data available is for the COARC site. Average yield for the trial was 166 bu/ac with varieties yields ranging from 116 to 186 bu/ac.

If you are interested in barley; there are some new winter and spring forage and grain variety releases located on the Barley World website.

Nominations are invited each year for the Pacific Division EARLY CAREER AWARD.  This award was established in 1999 to honor selected individuals belonging to the Pacific Division with 10 or fewer years of postgraduate experience and/or service.  The award can be for a single outstanding contribution or for sustained significant notable contributions to plant pathology in extension, research, teaching or industry.  Nominees must also be active members of the Pacific Division.  Additional information and previous winners can be found on the Early Career Award website.
Nominations can be made by any member or group of members belonging to the Pacific Division.  The Early Career Award is awarded as appropriate only in years when exceptional candidates are nominated.  No more than one award is given each year and only six people have been awarded since 1999 when it began.  

Dr. Jeremiah Dung Awarded APS PD Early Career Award

Jeremiah Dung was recently awarded the American Phytopathological Society PD Early Career Award at the annual Pacific Division Meeting in Washington.
