Future of Food Safety

The FDA has proposed new sets of food safety requirements called the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), signed into law by President Obama in 2011. This new proposal aims to prevent food contamination versus the current plan which acts in responding to contamination (“FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA),” n.d.). Though currently not implemented, the complete set of proposed FSMA guidelines can be found here: Public Law.
