Following a national search, Ben Davis has been named the new Director of Marketing and Communications for the College of Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State University. Davis holds an MFA in Creative Writing from OSU and brings a decade of experience in professional writing, science communications, and digital marketing, along with advanced skills in videography, photography, and web design.
Davis first joined the College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) as a writer in 2015, and became Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications in 2020. He has served as the Interim Director since last November, leading operations of the CAS marketing and communications team, with a focus on integrated marketing and strategic storytelling to share the broad impact of the college.
"I was fortunate to work with two great mentors in this role before me, Peg Herring and Heidi Happonen, and I look forward to building on the foundation we created. This college has so many incredible stories to tell, and I'm honored to lead this talented team in sharing the impact of our world-class scientists and educators."
Davis replaces Heidi Happonen, who served as director from 2018 to 2023.
