Dr. Nadia Singh Named Associate Dean of Inclusive Excellence and Faculty Affairs

Following a national search, Dr. Nadia Singh has been named Associate Dean of Inclusive Excellence and Faculty Affairs in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State University, effective December 1.

Dr. Singh currently serves as Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oregon. She earned her PhD from Stanford University and completed a postdoctoral position at Cornell University. She began her academic career as a faculty member at North Carolina State University, where she served for seven years, before joining the University of Oregon in 2017. In her current associate dean role, she has focused on improving culture and climate within her college, with special attention to faculty recruitment, retention, and advancement.

She is also a Professor of Biology, leading a research team in evolutionary genetics through the Singh Lab, which is committed to generating and sharing new knowledge while cultivating a culture of curiosity and rigorous scientific inquiry. Her mission extends beyond research, as she is dedicated to educating and empowering individuals while fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment.

This role in the College of Agricultural Sciences combines the responsibilities of the former Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs with a newly created focus on inclusive excellence, aiming to foster a supportive environment that advances faculty development and student support by enhancing equity and inclusion across the college.

Special thanks and recognition go to Dr. Yanyun Zhao for her impactful service as the previous Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs. Dr. Zhao’s contributions created a strong foundation in faculty development that Dr. Singh will now build upon through her leadership and commitment to inclusive excellence.
