Kirsten Petersen named Interim Information and Technology Director, College of Agricultural Sciences

The College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) at Oregon State University named Kirsten Petersen as the Interim Information and Technology Director, College of Agricultural Sciences starting June 29, 2023. Kirsten has been working at OSU since the fall of 1996, first as a student IT technician at the OSU Computer Helpdesk, then as a systems administrator/programmer analyst in UIT Network Services in 2001 where she managed the OSU Exchange email system. In 2007, she became an IT Manager, managing the Server Support team. In 2015, she moved back to the customer service side of IT, working first as an IT Manager, and then an Assistant IT Director for UIT Customer Experience. Kirsten received a Bachelor of Arts in German from OSU in 2001 and is passionate about language, science, and all things OSU. 

Dean Staci Simonich said, “I am grateful to have Kirsten serve as the Interim IT Director as we begin the open search for the new CAS IT Director.” Jack Breen, Chief Operating Officer, added “Kirsten is eager to talk with the Roots Computing Group team members, unit heads and administrative managers to understand their needs and ensure a smooth transition to the new IT Director.”
