The Mid-Columbia Agricultural Research and Extension Center (MCAREC) hosted its first field day in over 5 years on July 23. Roughly 80 stakeholders, community members, and OSU faculty and staff from around the state came to Hood River to tour the newly renovated laboratory facilities and to learn about the exciting research being conducted by entomologist, Dr. Chris Adams, and horticulturist, Dr. Kelsey Galimba. Additionally, USDA-ARS scientists presented and discussed their pear and cherry post-harvest research while the Hood River Soil and Water Conservation District shared current projects benefiting the region. The station was honored to have three faculty emeriti in attendance to share in MCAREC’s celebration and honor its long history of success.
