BRR is one of the top research-based undergraduate programs in the nation.

BRR students are high achievers:

  • 50% have a GPA greater or equal to 3.25.
  • 13% are in the Honors College; many also complete the International Degree program.
  • 100% of graduates find jobs or enter graduate/professional school within three months of graduating.
  • 60% go to graduate or professional school
  • Many double-major in related fields, or complete a minor.
  • Almost a third of BRR students identify themselves as ethnic or racial minorities.
  • BRR Members of MANRRS (Minorities in Agricultural, Natural Resources and Related Sciences) have consistently been national competition winners and student leaders.
  • 34% have earned double majors representing 14 departments from the colleges of Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, Science, and Health and Human Sciences.
  • 74% have earned minor(s) (examples include: chemistry, soil science, horticulture, oceanography, food science, equine, poultry and animal sciences, ag. business management, ag. economics, philosophy, communications, natural resources, environmental law and policy, microbiology, toxicology, irrigation engineering, North American environmental sciences, Spanish, Japanese and German)
  • Greater than 20% are University Honors College graduates -- although 40% have graduated with honors – cum laude or higher.
  • Greater than 16% have participated in study abroad with nearly 8% earning BA in International Studies degrees jointly awarded.

Others use their training to gain employment with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, environmental consulting and engineering, teaching, science outreach, non-profits and governmental natural resource regulatory agencies.
