Emerald Ash Borer

EAB confirmed in Kentucky in May of 2009.

Emerald ash borer (EAB), Agrilus planipennis Fairmaire, is an introduced exotic pest in the United States and Canada. Found first in Michigan, EAB was found in Ohio in 2003, northern Indiana in 2004, northern Illinois in 2006 and Maryland. APHIS reported finding it in Pennsylvania in June 2007, Missouri and Wisconsin in 2008 and Minnesota in 2009. It has also been found in New York and West Virginia. Growers in the Pacific Northwest should stay alert and watch for signs of this pest.
