A major gift by Northwest Farm Credit Services (NWFCS) will direct $250,000 to the North Willamette Research and Extension Center to complete a laboratory remodel in the Center’s Parker House. Three new state-of-the-art labs are planned for construction later this year. Included will be a plants lab, soils/chemistry lab, and a molecular lab. The project will remodel current office spaces and convert to laboratories, plus extend the footprint of the building by adding 12’ of additional floor space.

“This project will be a huge upgrade to our current lab facilities at the Center,” said Mike Bondi, NWREC Director. “Our goal is to provide much more adequate facilities for faculty research, as well as, the opportunity for expanded diagnostic services to the farm community. We really appreciate this contribution by Northwest Farm Credit Services to help make this important project a reality!”
