For those in Oregon, we will offer an in-person workshop on July 8th, 2022. It will be offered in English (9 AM -11 AM) and Spanish (1 PM - 3 PM). The workshop will begin with a brief lecture at the North Willamette Research & Extension Center. We will also have a scouting activity, location TBD. Fill out this interest form to ensure you are updated!

WHO should participate in this workshop?

This workshop is open to any enthusiast interested in boxwood! We cater to a wide audience including nursery workers, managers, landscapers, and homeowners who have boxwood in their yards. Even if you do not have immediate access to boxwood, we still encourage you to attend!

HOW is the workshop formatted?

Participants must register in advance. They will receive via email a brief scouting activity to complete before the workshop. The activity includes scouting your own plants for disease. We ask that you take at least three pictures and submit them to us prior to the workshop.

The workshop begins with a discussion of the scouting activity. We will review the photos we have received. Additionally, we will offer a presentation on signs and symptoms of boxwood blight, as well as a few other pests and pathogens that may afflict boxwood. Best management practices will also be included.
