Objective:

  1. To develop cultural strategies to reduce the severity of corn root rot and improve corn yield with the following specific objectives:
  • Identify secific cover crops that suppress corn root rot and improve corn yield.
  • Screen compost teas and calcium fertilizers for effects on root rot severity, and corn growth
  • Investigate the relationship between soil physical properties, root rot severity, and yield
