Kaci Buhl: PSEP Director 
Kaci has led the OSU Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) for five years, after coordinating the National Pesticide Information Center (NPIC) for a decade. She serves a national leadership role in the Pesticide Educational Resources Collaborative (PERC) and its sister project, PERC med. Kaci was a Pesticide Investigator at ODA, where she investigated complaints and worked with applicators to improve their practices. Kaci is a licensed Pesticide Consultant with training in entomology, pesticide toxicology, and IPM. Jennifer Duringer: PSEP Supervisor
Jennifer assists in supervision of PSEP employees and the planning and management of projects in the program. Her background is in Toxicology (PhD) and her research focuses on food safety in agricultural products with a lens on international impacts (BS Zoology and BA International Studies); she is also director of the Endophyte Service Laboratory.

 

 

 

Jessica Green: PSEP Outreach Coordinator
Jessica has worked as a vegetable crop entomologist at OSU since 2012, and assists the agricultural community with field scouting and pesticide applications. She is part of the Oregon IPM Center and has also been a contributor and section editor for the PNW Weed and Insect Management Handbooks for many years. In her new role with PSEP, Jessica coordinates the new pre-certification program, maintains our websites, and serves as a topic speaker for recertification events. Brittny Jones: PSEP Educator for Communities
Brittny Jones is the PSEP Educator for Communities at Oregon State University. She will provide pre-licensing trainings in the Industrial Institutional Health and Structural: General Pest (IIHS: GP) and Industrial Institutional Health and Structural: Structural Pest (IIHS: SP) pesticide license categories. She previously worked for Oregon Department of Agriculture as a Certification and Licensing Specialist with a focus on reviewing continuing education courses for pesticide applicators.

She received her B.S. and M.S. in biology at Austin Peay State University (APSU) and later moved to Texas to complete her Ph.D. in entomology at Texas A&M University (TAMU). Brittny began her career working for TAMU AgriLife Extension Service as an extension program specialist in pesticide safety. Her role was to provide pre-licensing trainings of pests in structural settings, including wood-destroying organisms. Contact Brittny for questions related to: applicator training, manuals

 

Virginia Balbi: Bi-lingual PSEP Outreach Coordinator.

Virginia coordinates the new Spanish pre-certification program, and participates in recertification courses and webinars. She has a B.S. degree in Agronomy and a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology. Virginia has taught and carried out research in different crops and model systems in universities and research institutions in several countries. Jade Petty: PSEP Education Project Assistant
Jade joined the PSEP program in 2020. She manages day-to-day operational tasks such as registration and logistics for recertification courses and webinars. If you have ever sent an email, registered for a webinar, or attended an in-person catered event, we have Jade to thank for everything running smoothly!
