The College of Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State University is embarking on a comprehensive renovation of its offerings in academic programs and student experiences; the renovation is entitled the "Teaching and Learning Initiative" (TLI). In the context of current and future budget constraints, the TLI will address critical needs of providing a quality educational experience with extremely scarce and diminishing resources in the near future.
The outcome of the TLI will be a contemporary curriculum informed by best practices in pedagogy and student engagement. We will actively engage students, faculty, employers, and other stakeholders throughout the process. Our programs will be aligned with national efforts to advance teaching in higher education in general and in agricultural education in particular. Furthermore, our programs will be consistent with ongoing strategic efforts in student success and engagement at OSU. Finally, our curricula will be infused with opportunities for students to develop leadership, entrepreneurialism, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills.
