Art About Agriculture celebrates 40th anniversary with show in Portland

The monumental November 17th Opening reception at Portland’5 Centers for the Arts served as the capstone to a year-long celebration of the Art About Agriculture Program’s 40th anniversary!  The event drew 110 registered visitors to downtown Portland for the festive gathering amongst the 65 artworks included in the tour.  Dean Staci Simonich provided a rousing talk about the remarkable diversity of research within the college and CAS’s legacy at the dynamic intersection of art and agriculture.  Thanks to incredible sponsorship by the OSU Alumni Council, the event included excellent catering and good attendance from OSU Alumni.  College of Agricultural Sciences’ Beaver Classic program provided guests with delicious student-made ice cream and cheeses. The 2023 Art About Agriculture Competition and Touring Exhibition visited Giustina Gallery (Corvallis, OR), Rogue Gallery & Art Center (Medford, OR) and currently on display at Portland’5 Centers for the Art’s Antoinette Hatfield Hall Rotunda (1111 SW Broadway, Portland, OR) now through December 31st.
