AgSci Student Welcome Celebration
On Tuesday, September 26 we welcomed all the new and returning College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) on-campus and Ecampus Students! The event was held in front of Strand Agriculture Hall.

Student Awards
Angela Szesciorka was selected at the 2023 recipient of the OSU Postdoctoral Excellence Award! This award is granted to exceptional postdoctoral scholars, fellows or research associates for their exceptional contributions to their research field, OSU and the greater postdoctoral community. Angela is a research associate in the Marine Mammal Bioacoustics and Ecology Lab and she is currently studying the impact of decreasing Arctic sea ice on the migration phenology of bowhead whales through the Bering Strait and the increasing overlap with vessels.
Matt Garcia, a MS student in the Osborne Enology Lab at OSU, was awarded “Best enology flash talk” at the American Society for Enology and Viticulture (ASEV) National Conference in Napa, CA in June. Matt presented findings from his research on “Impact of malolactic fermentation timing and addition of Torulaspora delbrueckii during cold soak on Pinot noir wine properties.”
Congratulations to Keegan Gibbs and Wiley Lang on receiving the 2023 OCA Scholarship.
