My area of focus within the Horticulture Department is sustainable horticultural solutions for the residential and commercial landscape.
I currently teach Landscape Design, (Hort 380), Landscape Maintenance, Conservation and Restoration, (Hort 315), Sustainable Landscape Construction (Hort 358), Herbaceous Perennials (Hort 255), Introduction to Hort Systems and Practices (Hort 112) and Building Sustainable Landscapes for the 21st Century (Hort 499). Additionally, I am the site manager for the Oak Creek Center for Urban Horticulture which is a six acre nexus for research, organic food production and riparian zone restoration.
I actively engage students with the OSU community as well as the surrounding Corvallis community via the installation of pollinator and drought tolerant gardens. My Landscape construction class aids in the building of pollinator domiciles that are sold to help fund our Oak Creek Center.
I am also the Horticulture Club faculty advisor
