Academic Interests:

I am currently working on the potential fitness costs of QoI (FRAC 11) fungicidal resistance in the grape powdery mildew pathogen, Erysiphe necator. The goal of this work is to determine if there are fitness costs in QoI resistant E. necator, what the fitness costs are, and if the fitness costs are induced by stresses such as UV light and high or low temperatures.

Biography

I am a 2nd year MS student in the Botany and Plan Pathology program here at OSU. My thesis research focuses on the fitness costs of fungicidal resistance in Grape Powdery Mildew. Prior to graduate school I helped develop and test molecular diagnostic tools for Phytophthora root rot of blueberry at California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB). I intend to attend a Phd program after earning my MS and aim to become an extension agent in the Salinas Valley, CA.
