Lauren Chase

Lauren Chase is originally from a small town in northern California where her family grows rice, almonds, walnuts, and raises beef cattle. She grew up participating in a variety of 4-H and FFA activities. She graduated from Oregon State with a bachelor of science degree in agricultural sciences with minors in communication, writing, and leadership. She is a proud beaver alumna and graduate of Oregon State's College of Agricultural Sciences Leadership Academy.

Lauren has worked for a variety of companies including crop commodity groups, animal agriculture associations, and water conservation organizations. She finished her master of science degree in agricultural communications from Texas Tech University. Her thesis research is titled "Trust in Agricultural Messages: A Moment-to-Moment Analysis." Lauren was brought on board to work in the department in December of 2018 to help develop an agricultural sciences and natural resources communications minor. She currently teaches agricultural sciences and natural resource communications courses, conducts research, and creates curriculum for the department. She now lives in Montana with her husband and is working fully remote for OSU.

When she isn't at her desk, you can find her out riding her horse Hank, at a local coffee shop, or geeking out to a true crime podcast!
