Co-Advisor: OSU Steer-A-Year club
Instructor of Record: Summer Agriculture Institute-West
Melissa grew up about an hour north of Corvallis in Newberg, Oregon where she was involved in both 4-H and FFA. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University in Animal Sciences and later went on to earn her master’s degree in Agriculture, also at Oregon State, where she focused on Animal Science, Agriculture Education, and Agricultural Business Management. As a student Melissa was actively involved in the Steer-A-Year club, and now serves as a co-advisor for the club. Prior to joining the department Melissa interned for both the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association and the Oregon Beef Council and later taught various agriculture courses at Linn-Benton Community College. Melissa joined the department in 2015 and serves as an academic advisor, primarily advising Ecampus students, and as an instructor. Melissa also helps to facilitate the Summer Agriculture Institute offered by our department in partnership with the Oregon Farm Bureau.
In her spare time, Melissa enjoys trying out new recipes with friends, rooting on our Beavers at sporting events and hanging out with her Labrador Ellie!
