My research focuses on spatial ecology, wildlife habitat modeling and geospatial technology applications in natural resource management.

My research examines the spatial and temporal dynamics of rangeland ecosystems, plant community dynamics and animal - habitat interactions. I utilize geographic information sustems (GIS) and remote sensing technology to answer ecological quesions, I am currently working in the followig thematic areas:

  • Restoring degraded arid land and management
  • Analyzing ecoystem complexes using principles of landscape ecology
  • Performing ecological modeling to assess impact of climate change on plant copmmunity
  • Modeling environmental variables to predict animal movement across the landscape
  • Developng protocols, tools and decision support systems (including software VegMeasure) for improvng livestock and vegetation management on rangelands
