Seed quality evaluation in relation to the physiology of seed germination, vigor, dormancy, storability, post-harvest technologies, and the relationship to field performance. Accepts only self-funded graduate students.

  • 2016 Chair of C-4 Division of CSSA.
  • Associate Editor of Crop Science (2011-2017).
  • Current Chair of the following committees of the Association of Official Seed Analysts (AOSA): Research Committee, Statistics Committee and Seed Moisture Determination Committee. A member of several other AOSA committees. Research member of the SCST.
  • Invited visiting professor at the Federal University of Pelotas in Brazil, Ag. Research Centers in Uruguay, the Agronomy and Forestry University of Nepal, and CFIA Seed Science & Technology Section, Saskatoon Laboratory,  Canada.
