Ryan’s Research:
- Our core research objective is to characterize wheat and barley variety performance across major cereal production regions in Oregon (variety testing results can be found on our program’s website: https://cropandsoil.oregonstate.edu/wheat/osu-wheat-variety-trials). In addition to this work, we are evaluating the effects of different seeding rates on yield, protein, and test weight for winter and spring wheat. Finally, we are conducting targeted breeding work to develop one or more hard red spring wheat varieties that are adapted to dryland and irrigated growing regions in Oregon.
