Preharvest Ag Water Treatment Train-the-Trainer Workshop
Who Should Attend?

This workshop is for Western region extension & industry professionals who wish to teach courses on preharvest agricultural water treatment.

 

What to Expect? 

Goals of this workshop are to teach participants about:

  • Different approaches to treating preharvest agricultural water on-farm
  • How to implement these systems to meet requirements of the Produce Safety Rule
  • How to verify that the system is operating as intended

Produce Safety Professional Development Workshop
Who Should Attend?

This half-day virtual workshop is for produce safety trainers interested in gaining additional experience in teaching the PSA curriculum to growers. 

 

What to Expect? 

After attending this workshop, trainers will be able to: 

  • List recent updates and navigate resources for handling tough produce safety questions
  • Demonstrate how to address FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirements in sticky produce safety scenarios 
  • Describe strategies for engaging participants in each topic of the PSA Grower Training course

PSA Advanced Trainer Workshop

 

The Produce Safety Alliance and Southern Center have collaborated to create the PSA Advanced Training course. This workshop has been developed to provide attendees with an in-depth scientific understanding of the FSMA Produce Safety Rule and help trainers enrich their PSA training skills. This workshop is a blend of lecture, hands-on activities, and breakout groups separated into six half-day modules:

  1. Micro 101
  2. Soil Amendments and Animals
  3. Production Water
  4. Sanitation
  5. Postharvest Water
  6. Instructor Tips for Participant Engagement
