Hermiston Farm Fair

50th Annual Hermiston Farm Fair

November 29-30, 2023

Thank you for attending the 50th Hermiston Farm Fair! The event proved to be a complete success. As one of the most important regional meetings, the two-day meeting hosted 53 outstanding continuing-education courses with excellent speakers from Oregon State University, Washington State University, University of Idaho, Colorado State University, University of California, and USDA-ARS. The turnout for the event exceeded our expectations, with an impressive attendance of 290 on the first day and 220 on the second day. This remarkable participation, especially in a post-COVID context, underscores the event's importance in the agricultural community.

The sight of crowded classrooms, reminiscent of pre-COVID times, brought excitement. Encompassing potato, wheat, onion, alfalfa, and new crops, the Farm Fair significantly enriched the experience for growers, consultants, and other attendees. The event included traditional and emerging topics of information ranging from breeding, crop protection, irrigation, nutrient management, and environmental protection, to cover crops, soil health, carbon sequestration, and AI techniques. All the speakers and attendees helped to make the 50th Hermiston Farm Fair a valuable and comprehensive agricultural event.
