OSU College of Liberal Arts interns working at the Richard Thompson Estate pay tribute to prolific Oregon-born oil painter Richard Thompson. Forever Horizons features an array of paintings, multidisciplinary works, and ephemera spanning the entirety of Thompson’s career. Inspired by the agricultural landscapes he witnessed in childhood and during travels around the United States, the Thompson Estate writes:
“The paintings grow from all that he sees and all that he thinks about in the world around him. Over the last decade Richard has explored the rural, agricultural landscape of the American west with its distant horizons, far away mountains, geometric field patterns and farm buildings seen as if they are still life elements on a wide, vast table.”
Thank you to Kymberli Contreras and Julie Enders of the Thompson Estate. Forever Horizons is sponsored by the OSU College of Agricultural Sciences, with curatorial internship supervision from Art About Agriculture and research guidance on agriculture-related topics from the OSU Ag Ambassadors program, in particular Student Ag Ambassador, Gerard Fox.
This exhibition is curated and promoted by OSU College of Liberal Arts interns Taylor Wells, Abbay Anderson, Kelsey Keele, and Sara Bennet. Graphic Design for printed promotions by Abbay Anderson.
