Graduation Ceremony
The third annual college-wide graduation ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, June 11th. We look forward to celebrating with you and your families/friends!
Please note that this ceremony is separate from the OSU Commencement. The dress code for our event is business casual, although students who wish to wear their regalia are welcome to do so. During the ceremony, students will receive an alumni pin and have the opportunity for memorable photographs. Beaver Classic ice cream will be served after the ceremony.
Due to space restrictions and our desire to accommodate as many grads as possible for this event, we are allowing each graduate rsvp for 3 guests.
Ecampus students: OSU Ecampus will also be hosting an on-campus reception the morning of June 13th. More information and registration details
Frequently Asked Questions
1. I didn’t RSVP. Can I still attend?
Yes! Graduates who missed the RSVP deadline are welcome to attend with up to 2 guests. Seating is limited, so guests may be asked to sit in the balcony area.
2. Do I need a ticket to attend?
No tickets are required. Our celebration is free and open to guests of graduates. We are tracking attendance internally to manage capacity.
3. Is this the official university graduation?
No—this is a special College of Agricultural Sciences celebration. The official university Commencement takes place on Saturday. Our event is a joyful sendoff with photos, recognition, and an Alumni Pin for each graduate.
4. Where can I park?
Parking information for the LaSells Stewart Center
5. Do I have to wear regalia to participate?
Nope! You do not need regalia to join the celebration. We don’t want clothing to be a limiting factor—come dressed in whatever makes you feel proud and ready to celebrate!
6. Where will I sit?
Graduates will be led to their department’s reserved seating, so please be sure to line up with your Department in the designated areas upon arrival.
Families and guests are encouraged to find seating outside of the roped-off graduate seating areas.
If you have questions on the day of the event, please see one of our ushers for assistance.
7. What time does the event start?
Doors open at 2:00 PM.
The event begins promptly at 3:00 PM.
8. What should I expect when I arrive?
When you arrive at LaSells Stewart Center, graduates should find an usher who will help direct you to line up with your Department.
For spacing and safety reasons, family members and guests will be asked to proceed into the auditorium to find seating while graduates are lined up in the lobby.
Once the program begins, lined-up graduates will enter the auditorium as a processional and will be guided to their reserved seating.
The processional order will be:
- Faculty
- Master’s and PhD students
- Undergraduate students
Please stand by your marked areas in the LaSells lobby (located to the right of the auditorium entry doors). If you need assistance at any point, please find an usher.
9. Are there accommodations for guests with disabilities?
Absolutely.
- For service animals: ADA Guidelines
- For parking or ADA seating needs, please contact OSU Transportation Services for updated lot information.

10. I heard there’s free ice cream—where do I get it?
You heard right! Free ice cream will be available after the event at designated tables near the exit. There will be a line, but our team will work quickly to make sure everyone gets their treat and can head out to enjoy the rest of their evening.
Our goal is to wrap up efficiently so you have plenty of time to enjoy dinner with your family afterward.
