I have a voucher, what's next?
License plates could be available from DMV as early as August 2023 (although the exact timing has not yet been established). For those who purchased a voucher, they will be mailed to you approximately a month before expected production.

Marek Stanton is a high school student at Summit Learning Charter School in Estacada Oregon. In addition to a lifelong love of art and color Marek is also a skilled entomologist and the youngest member of the Master Melittologist Program at Oregon State University.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Take your original paper voucher to any Oregon DMV location to redeem it for your plates. You will need to complete the appropriate DMV form(s) and pay registration and other fees due. Physical plates will not be available until 3,000 pre-sale vouchers have been sold.
- Your purchase of a voucher is a transaction between you and the Oregon State University Horticulture Department. If your voucher is lost, stolen, or damaged, contact us at oregonbeeplate@oregonstate.edu for a replacement.
- The sale of the voucher is a fundraising activity of the Oregon State University Horticulture Department. The DMV does not and will not control the means or manner of the sale and distribution of vouchers.
The Pollinator Paradise Plate is not for sale at this time. Voucher pre-sales concluded in January 2023. It is expected to be another 4-6 months after the conclusion of pre-sales before the plates are produced and delivered to DMV offices. Once the plates are in production, you may purchase a plate directly at any Oregon DMV branch. You may also be able to purchase a plate by mail.

In addition to regular title, registration, and plate fees, the specialty pollinator plate has a $40 surcharge due when you first order the plate and at each registration renewal. The surcharge is the same amount for four-year or two-year registration periods. Additionally, you will need to pay a one-time plate fee and plate replacement fee.

Yes! Like other Oregon license plates, the pollinator plate may be customized for an additional DMV charge.
Yes, you can maintain your current custom 6-character configuration on a pollinator plate, for an additional DMV charge.
Souvenir plates are not available. Pollinator plates are only available with passenger vehicles registered in the State of Oregon.
To give the pollinator plate voucher as a gift, sign as Purchaser and complete the bottom “Transfer of Voucher” section in the name of the person receiving the gift. Be sure that you also sign as Transferor in this section.
Yes, each time you renew your plates you will be charged a $40 surcharge in additional to DMV’s regular renewal fees. Of this charge, $35 will go directly to support pollinator programs in the Horticulture Department at Oregon State University and $5 will be retained by the DMV.
