Weed Management Research Field Tour

Tour starts at 8:30 AM
Hosted lunch will follow as soon as the tour is completed.
Pesticide Recertification Credits (3 credits for Oregon and 3 credits for Idaho)
The tour will featured weed control studies in herbicides for weed control in dry bulb onion, herbicides for weed control in potato, evaluation of adjuvants used with Roundup (glyphosate) to manage weeds in sugar beet, timing of first irrigation to activate Sequence and Nortron herbicides for effective management of weeds in sugar beet, and herbicides for wild oats and kochia control in winter wheat.

The Malheur Experiment Station will be hosting our annual Field Day again! The Malheur Experiment Station Field Day has been a long-time tradition for sharing the work of experiment station faculty with growers and community members. This is an opportunity to view field trials in-person, learn about current crop research projects and interact with OSU scientists. Trials for onions, potatoes, sugar beets, dry beans, wheat and hemp will be on display.
The Field Day includes a hosted lunch at noon. The event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to ensure proper catering for lunch.

This is a chance for growers, industry, and researchers to examine a replicate of the onion variety trial where the onions are lifted and laid out in half of the plot and the other half of the onion plot is still growing. You will be able to examine each of the more than 50 varieties of onions in the trial. There will be a shade canopy setup with water and refreshments in the field.
