Ergot Alert Newsletter

The Ergot Alert Newsletter is brought to you by Oregon State University and USDA-ARS, and sponsored by the Washington Turfgrass Seed Commission, the Oregon Seed Council, the Columbia Basin Grass Seed Growers, the Jefferson County Seed Growers Association, and the Union County Grass Seed Growers Association. The goal of this newsletter is to provide information about ergot spore production in Central Oregon, the Columbia Basin, and the Grande Ronde Valley in an effort to inform decisions related to ergot management during the course of the growing season.

To aid in timely distribution of the newsletter to all interested parties, the Ergot Alerts are now found on the OSU-COARC Plant Pathology Blog. In addition to current Ergot Alerts, past Ergot Alert Newsletters are archived there.

Mint Pest Alert Newsletter

This electronic newsletter is being used to inform growers, fieldmen and industry representatives in the mint production areas of Oregon about mint root borer and cutworm/armyworm development by geographic regions. These three pests have life cycles that offer opportunities for multiple target insect control with a single, properly timed pesticide application. This electronic Pest Alert notification system will assist in management decisions that maximize the effectiveness of insecticide applications for these pests. A weekly newsletter is sent out to three different regions: Central Oregon, Grande Ronde Valley and the Willamette Valley. The Central Oregon Newsletter can be found here as well.
